It's just that there are some implementation details that had to be worked out before doing so.
VIDEO CARD FOR G5 MAC PC
It turns out that making a universal Mac and PC video card isn't that tough. You could stick a Mac card in a PC, but it wouldn't POST, not without a firmware reflash and the same applied in reverse as well. Although the Mac cards shared the exact same GPUs that I had been used to on the PC side of things, the cards were sometimes physically different and always featured a Mac-only firmware. The use of Mac compatible video cards wasn't as multifaceted, however. But after locating some, I could use them on both Mac and PC platforms, albeit their slower timings made them mostly undesirable for use on any of my PC test beds. I needed G5 compatible modules that adhered to Apple's strict SPD programming requirements. Of course, there were some limitations I couldn't just throw in the gigabytes of DDR memory that I had laying around. It used a plain old SATA hard drive, a DVD drive, the same DDR memory and even the same GPUs. Honestly, with the exception of the PowerPC CPU and custom chipset/motherboard, the inside of my first G5 looked hardly any different than a very well built PC. I used Novabench and Geekbench as you can see. When I first started using Macs alongside my PCs I was quickly reminded of how similar the two platforms had become in terms of their actual hardware. In the future i will be upgrading my video card to an GTX660 Ti and my psu to 600 watt.

The GTX470 worked great in Os X with 2 monitors but when gaming in Windows it almost exploded by heat so i went back to my GT430 and now with one monitor through HDMI to DVI in Mac. around 60 to 70 degrees bij watching youtube videos and stuff like that. There is only one thing and that is that the card gets pretty hot. I used the 2 DVI ports on the card one real dvi and one vga with dvi adaptor and that helped it boots directly in to os X wit 2 monitors! Soon i will start testing an Palit Geforce GTX470 to see if that fix my monitor issue. Good thing is that my card is detected in Os X and i can boot without any problem in Os X but it only works with 1 monitor i use DVI and VGA because the monitors are old and doe not have HDMI, so i am still working on that.(any help would be appreciated)
VIDEO CARD FOR G5 MAC DRIVER
I installed the Cuda driver version 5.0.36 for my GT430 Graphics card.
VIDEO CARD FOR G5 MAC UPDATE
I also made the 2 Apple logos black and made a button for the DVD drive and as last i ordered a custom G5 to ATX cable here: powermac g5Īfter Multibeast i installed Combo update 1 & 2 luckily, I had no problems after installation. Next i made 2 metal panels for the motherboard tray then i made the back panel plate and and put it to the back. I start disassembling the old Powermac g5 and start cutting out the back panel further build in the DVD drive and made the hard drive bay fit under the dvd drive. I downloaded Mountain Lion from a friend's Mac and made my Unibeast drive. When I bought the PowerMac G5 2003 model he worked and it was running OS X Tiger 10.4.11 Logitech Classic New Touch USB Keyboard 200
